14 Guidance statement on fidelity and best practices for crisis resolution and home treatment teams UK

guidance-on-fidelity-for-crisis-services-ukThis 2006 document developed by NIMHE-National Institute of Mental Health for England and the Department of Health has some useful ideas that would apply to intensive home treatment teams in other countries. Useful suggestions include ensuring that the team does not end up as the de facto crisis assessments service for the ER ( called A&E here) or seeing many less than serious crises from primary care physicians; thus leaving insufficient time for its primary purpose-home treatment. This is the same point made by the Australian report  on CAT’s from Victoria ( Post # 2 under News)
