This is the second follow-up study of PRISM clients. A prospective cohort study, it was conducted by some of the researchers who conducted the first study which was a chart review .

50 male clients admitted to PRISM at the Welcome Hall Mission from May 31 2018 to Dec 31 2019 were met at intake, discharge, and at 1 to 2 years following discharge.

At each time point, clients completed an interview with a research team member as well as a series of questionnaires.

The purpose of this approach was to explore the impact of PRISM on both short- and long -term outcomes, regarding housing status , personal recovery, and functional level.

Of the 43 participants who completed the program, 76.7% were discharged to stable housing.

Housing data were available for 32 participants at 1-year follow-up :62.5 % of these described a stable housing situation , and 56.32 % were living at the same address they had been discharged to.

By the end of the program, 78% of the study’s 50 participants had engaged in psychiatric follow-up of some sort.
